What is fitness? Fitness is a general term that can be used to describe a range of habits that promote good health, an active lifestyle, and healthy development. Physical fitness refers to a condition of well-being and health and, more importantly, the ability to do regular parts of daily activities, tasks and sports. This is the major benefit that many people think about when they consider fitness.
Mental fitness has to do with how well a person is able to handle daily stresses. It can also include how much of a “drive” they have to continue with their fitness program. There is no such thing as a genetic factor in mental fitness levels. People from all over the world who are healthy are the same people who have high levels of mental fitness.
Physical fitness, however, cannot be compared solely to aerobic fitness. The types of activities that are most beneficial include total body movement and resistance training. The most popular forms of physical activity include cardiovascular, weight lifting and resistance training. Aerobic exercise does not get the heart rate up like resistance training does, so it is not as beneficial for burning calories.
Fitness should be a part of your daily routine. There is no way that you can achieve optimal physical health without some form of regular exercise. If you want to feel good and have a healthier lifestyle, you need to incorporate a regular physical fitness routine into your lifestyle. Not only will you be able to have a healthier body, you will also be more satisfied with your overall health.
